• Tarbert Landfill Capping at ESB Generating Station, Tarbert, Co. Kerry

Works took place between August and December 2006 and comprised an earthworks and lining contract including sub-soil placement and compaction and installation of 1mm LLDPE liner, drainage and civil works and landscaping. All works were undertaken by Lining Technology

• Landfill Capping at Great Island, at ESB Generating Station, Great Island, Co. Wexford,

Works took place between May and July 2005 and comprised an earthworks and lining contract including sub-soil placement and compaction and installation of 1mm LLDPE liner, placement of topsoil and seeding. All works were undertaken by Lining Technology.

Waterford County Council

• Tramore Landfill, Tramore, County Waterford  - Gas/Leachate Extraction Contract.

This contract involved the design and installation of a gas and leachate extraction system including all pipework, connections, flares and the drilling and installation of wells.

• Geosynthetic Elements of Final Capping, Kilbarry Landfill, Kilbarry, Waterford 

The capped area for this contract was 171,000 m². Waterford City Council supplied the fill material for this contract however Lining Technology managed the 171,000 m³ earthworks and their personnel were employed to undertake much of the excavation of trenches, preparation of filled surfaces, installation of sub-soil and backfill operations. This project involved the supply and installation of 3 geosynthetic layers of final capping (comprising geocomposite gas collection layer, LLDPE barrier layer and geocomposite drainage layer), installation of drainage system, earthworks including sub-grade profiling and instllation of geogrid and preparation and ancillary civil engineering works including gabion slope stabilisation system. This project commenced in October 2005 on a phased basis and was completed in June 2008. All works were undertaken by Lining Technology.

• East Cork Landfill Capping of Cells 5-10, Rossmore, Co.Cork.

Works involved the regrading of existing landfill slopes, installation of 3 layer capping system comprising geocomposite gas collection layer, LLDPE barrier layer and geocomposite drainage layer, installation of subsoil and topsoil layers and landscaping. Installation of landfill gas wells, chambers manifolds and associated pipework. Installation of leachate chambers and pipework. Upgrading surface water collection system. Upgrading stormwaterpond. Ancillary civil engineering works. Area of liner installed was 40,000m2 and area of earthworks was 40,000m2.

• Youghal Landfill, Co Cork – Capping of Cells 6 to 8

Works involved the regrading of existing landfill slopes, installation of 3 layer capping system comprising geocomposite gas collection layer, LLDPE barrier layer and geocomposite drainage layer, installation of subsoil and topsoil layers and landscaping. Installation of landfill gas wells, chambers manifolds and associated pipework. Installation of leachate chambers and pipework. Upgrading surface water collection system. Ancillary civil engineering works

Kildare County Council

• Silliot Hill Landfill Phase 1B Capping Works

Works involved the regrading of existing landfill slopes, installation of 3 layer capping system, installation of subsoil and topsoil layers, landscaping, construction of surface water swales, leachate infrastructure, installation of gas extraction wells and infrastructure and ancillary civil works.

Roscommon County Council

• Restoration Capping to Cell 7 at Ballaghaderreen Landfill, County Roscommon

This contract involvedremoval of temporary cap membrane and anchormatting and regarding waste, placement of geotextile and regulating layer, membrane and geosynthetics deployment, placement of restoration soils, installation of gas wells and gas pipework, ancillary works, erection of litter netting.

 Wexford County Council

• Holmestown Waste Management Facility, Contract 5 – Gas Management Infrastructure

Supply and installation of twin pipe landfill gas mains including all junctions for connection to manifolds, condensate knockout pots, drip legs and leachate side risers under this contract, supply and installation of all manifolds and condensate knockout pots and connection to existing drip legs along the twin gas mains, extension of the leachate recirculation and leachate rising mains.

Monaghan County Council

• Scotch Corner Landfill - Phase 2 Restoration/Capping - works will commence in March 2010

Scope of works: Preparation of commencing surface for placement of capping materials, placement of gas collection layer, placement of capping layer, placement of surface water drainage layer, installation of surface water drain, installation of temporary capping layer. The contract period is 16 weeks.
